Bradley Elementary School

Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new and different school year! We are excited to be back in school and our plan is to provide your child with wonderful teaching and learning experiences.

Our doors open at 8:00 AM.  Students are not permitted in the building prior to that time. All students will pick up their breakfast and report directly to their classrooms.  Students who arrive after 8:20 are marked TARDY.

Like last year, all students will receive a free breakfast and lunch to eat in their classroom.  If a student brings cold lunch, they must bring it with them in the morning.  No lunches will be permitted to be dropped off during the school day.  We are unable to heat food for students who bring a cold lunch, so please pack items that do not need to be heated.

In the interest of health and safety for all students, parents will not be permitted in the building at any time.  Please do not exit your car when dropping off or picking up your child.  We will have adults on hand to escort them to their classroom.  Kindergarten through 5thgrade students must wear a mask while on the bus. Carpool students need a mask for entering and exiting the building.  Kindergarten through 5th grade will be required to wear a mask.

Place absence excuses in the agenda for your child’s teacher to send to the office.  We must have the excuse within 72 hours of the student returning to school or it will not be accepted.  Remember you have 5 parent notes per semester that can be counted as excused absences.  All other absences must have a note from the doctor in order to be excused.

For students who must sign out, there will be a sign out table at the front entrance under the awning.  Please ring the bell, and we will bring your child to you. A student who signs out may not come back that day.  No sign outs will be permitted after 2:30. After 2:30, you must wait in the carpool line.

Students will not be permitted to change busses this year.  In other words, we cannot accept notes for a child to go home with a friend on a different bus. Carpool will be dismissed starting at 3:15 p.m.  Please wait in your car in the pick-up lines in front of the school, display your carpool card with your child’s name and your child will be escorted by a staff member to your car.  Carpool ID cards will be given to you on the first day of school.

It is a good idea to place your child’s name on ALL of their belongings.  We will not have a lost and found bin this year.

By working together, we can make the years at Bradley a successful and happy learning experience for your child, even during this uncertain time.  If you ever have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give me call. Please refer to the next page for important points and changes to remember.

Important Points to Remember

Due to COVID-19, the following changes must be made at Bradley Elementary this year.  These new precautions are put into place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep your child healthy and safe.

  1. NO visitors will be allowed in the school.
  2. If signing your child out, you must ring the bell for the office.  We will bring your child to you.  Once and child signs out, they may not return to school that day.
  3. No sign-outs after 2:30. After 2:30 you must wait in the carpool line.  Students will need to ride their regular bus to and from school.  They will not be allowed to change busses and ride home with a friend.
  4. No lunches of any kind will be permitted to be dropped off during the school day.  This includes meals from home and restaurants.  A free breakfast and lunch will be provided for your child daily. If they plan on eating something different than school lunch, they must bring it with them in the morning.
  5. Water fountains will not be used by students this year. Water bottle filling stations are being installed.  Until then, we will provide bottles of water.  Students are allowed to bring a water bottle from home.  PLEASE label the bottle with their name.  WATER ONLY is permitted in the water bottles.
  6. PLEASE label ALL student belongings.  There will be NO Lost and Found this year.
  7. Please do not send your child to school if they are ill. Refer to the following handout “Should I Come to School?”
  8. If your child becomes ill at school, you MUST come to get them.
  9. We must always have current contact phone numbers. PLEASE keep the school updated with these contact numbers.
