Welcome to Raleigh County Schools and Bradley Elementary!

Raleigh County is located in southern West Virginia approximately 60 miles from the state capital of Charleston. The school district is comprised of 29 schools and Bradley Elementary is one of 19 elementary schools. Raleigh County ranks fourth largest in the state with a student population of over 12,000. The district has an annual operating budget of approximately $125 million and a workforce of over 1,500 administrators, teachers and service personnel.

Bradley Elementary is committed to excellence in teaching and learning for all students within a safe and orderly environment. We share with our community the responsibility of encouraging each individual to reach his/her maximum potential. We are preparing our students to thrive as Tigers in the 21st Century. We offer opportunities for students to participate in sports, intramurals, clubs, and activities throughout the school year. We offer activities such as our Reading Patch Club and Pumpkin Decorating Contest for our students and parents to participate together in reading and creating projects together. We offer school sponsored P.E. club and community based organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and Good News Club for students to participate. Fine Arts are included in our school curriculum through Art, Music, and Physical Education classes with a culminating event known as the Night of the Arts near the end of each school year to showcase students' artwork and students participate in musical and physical education performances. We must ensure that all students are learning at their highest potential.

We will have both after school Patch Club for parent/child reading experiences each Monday evening from 3:45 to 4:45 and evening math nights in which you and your child can enjoy math games that compliment our math program. Grade levels will offer "parent days" in which you can come to class and watch an actual math lesson being taught.

In School Ready to Learn. It is also of the utmost importance that your children be at school each day, be on time and stay until the end of the day because many of the concepts being taught in math and reading are group oriented and cannot be retaught successfully in a one-to-one setting. Students need to be at school and in their seats ready to learn at 8:20 each morning. Students have breakfast in the classroom each day at 8:05. Only by working together, can we make the years at Bradley your child's most successful and happy learning experience!
