What is your major concern for the 2025-2026 school year?

We have identified areas of concern in both reading and mathematics. Specifically, we experienced a 3% decline in reading performance. Upon analyzing individual student data, it appears this decline is largely attributed to challenges in writing, which impacted overall reading outcomes. Although end of year i-Ready data predicted growth in both reading and math, the anticipated improvement did not happen. While math performance remained stable with no decline, it also showed no measurable growth.

What is your plan to correct/address the major concern for the 2024-2025 school year?

To address the academic concerns identified in reading and writing, we have implemented several strategic initiatives for the 2025–2026 school year. A dedicated 30-minute writing block has been incorporated into all K–5 teacher schedules, in addition to their regular ELA instruction, ensuring consistent writing practice across grade levels. Our academic coach has already conducted two professional development sessions focused on effective writing instruction, with additional sessions planned. We have also adopted a schoolwide walk-to-intervention model in both reading and math, providing every student with 30 minutes of daily intervention in each subject, which is an improvement over last year’s alternating schedule. Intervention groups are being done by all staff which includes Title I teachers, Special Education teachers, classroom teachers, and ECCATs, ensuring that all students receive tailored instruction for either remediation or enrichment. To support data-driven decision making, we are holding monthly Leadership and PBIS team meetings, while teacher teams meet twice a month to analyze student progress and adjust intervention groups as needed. Additionally, after-school tutoring opportunities are being offered through Title I and Science of Reading support to further reinforcement of learning and close achievement gaps.

Identify what the Board of Education can do to assist your school in providing a high-quality education for your students.

 1.    Curriculum - We appreciate Simple Solutions as an effective tool for reinforcing previously taught skills. Additionally, we appreciate the opportunity to incorporate UFLI into our phonics curriculum, as we believe it will significantly support our efforts in developing strong foundational reading skills among our students. At this time, we do not have any additional curricular needs.

 2.    Staff Development - We greatly appreciate the support of our Academic Coaches, who provide valuable professional development sessions both at the school and county level throughout the year. In September alone, we have already benefited from two writing-focused sessions. We are also thankful for the use of Title I funds, which make it possible to offer these professional development opportunities to our staff.

 3.    Personnel - We are requesting the return of a full-time counselor at Bradley for the 2026–2027 school year due to the increasing academic and social-emotional needs of our students. A full-time counselor is essential to provide consistent support, build strong relationships, and implement proactive interventions that part-time coverage cannot adequately address. This role is critical in ensuring student well-being and overall school success.

 4.    Facilities – We would like to express our sincere thanks for the recent facility and safety upgrades at Bradley, including the new basketball backboards, the installation of doors with windows, and the upcoming rekeying of the building. We also greatly appreciate the addition of the Centegix badges, which serve as an important enhancement to our school’s security. As we continue to prioritize a safe and welcoming environment for all students, we would like to request updates to some of the equipment on the preschool playground, as several pieces are currently broken and/or showing signs of rust.

Identify your school’s biggest accomplishment for the year.

We are proud to share that Bradley has earned the PBIS Tier 1 Bronze Medal. This year, we have placed a strong emphasis on building community and increasing parent involvement. We have already held two PTO meetings, received sign-ups from over 80 parent volunteers, and hosted a successful “Reading on the Lawn” event with participation from more than 100 parents. These activities show the strong partnership between our school and families and the shared commitment to student success.

Please feel free to provide any additional information you wish to share with the Board.

We appreciate the Board taking the time to listen to our needs and concerns for the 2025–2026 school year. While we did not achieve the academic gains we had hoped for last year, we are confident that the strategies we’ve implemented will lead to increased student engagement and improved learning outcomes. We remain optimistic this will result in significant academic growth in the year ahead.
