Good Afternoon Tiger Families! A few items to note this week: We have an away game against Beckley on Tuesday, Sept. 17th. We have a home game against Maxwell Hill on Thursday, September 19th. Doors for both games open at 5:30. The mobile dentist will be at school on Tuesday and Wednesday (the 18th and 19th). Students were given forms last week. Please call the school if you want a form and did not get one. An important social skill we are working on with students is "hands to self" and respecting the body and space of other people. Please help us reinforce this important skill. Have a great week!

Attention 3rd - 5th grade Families! Senate Bill 602 requires each school to have a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan in the event of a cardiac emergency during athletic events. All students and parents of student athletes must attend an informative session regarding cardiac emergencies in sports and must sign a form acknowledging that they have received this information BEFORE their child can participate in any sport. This is mandatory. Students WILL NOT be permitted to try out or participate in a sport if they do not attend the training with a parent or guardian. Our school will have meetings in the coming weeks, however, I know many athletes have older siblings who play for the middle or high school. You may attend these trainings at at any Raleigh County School. Be sure to get your signed verification form that you and your child attended. You must provide this form to Bradley Elementary or your child will not be able to try out or play a sport. Bradley meetings will be scheduled soon.

Dear Raleigh County Schools Parents and Guardians, On Monday, April 8, 2024, it is anticipated between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM that our region will experience a partial solar eclipse. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves between the sun and Earth, blocking all or a portion of the sun’s rays. Medical professionals advise it is always dangerous to look directly at the sun without appropriate eye protection. Out of an abundance of caution, Raleigh County Schools (RCS) will be taking extra steps for your child’s safety. •RCS will follow a regular schedule on Monday, April 8, 2024. •All schools have been encouraged to share the solar eclipse viewing experience with students by utilizing television feeds or internet live streams. •Resources and lessons about the solar eclipse are available from the West Virginia Department of Education, NASA, and other science outlets. •School staff will advise students of the dangers of looking directly at the sun at any time, especially during the solar eclipse. •Students will not be permitted outside for any activities other than those planned and approved by the principal during the hours of 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This includes recess, athletics, band or other outdoor after school activities. •As students are dismissed, staff will be on hand to instruct students not to look directly at the sun and to monitor as they exit the building. The eclipse may occur during dismissal time. RCS asks parents to reinforce the dangers of looking at the sun and to remind their children not to look directly at the sun on their way home from school on Monday, April 8, 2024. We appreciate your understanding and support during this unique learning experience and ask that you talk with your children about the eclipse prior to school on Monday, April 8.

We are closing out the first semester tomorrow! Here are a couple of things to note: 1) Students should have brought home their 2nd iReady Diagnostic reports(K-5). If you did not receive these, please contact your child's teacher. 2) Report cards will be coming home on January 19 if there are no technical issues!

Good morning. When picking students up from school, please use the main entrance at the stop light. Please do not come up the side entrance. This is for busses and day care vans. If you have another adult picking up your child from school, please explain our pick up procedures. Failure to follow these procedures causes a traffic jam and creates an unsafe environment for students and staff in the parking lot. Thank you for your understanding.
